“I want to offer my support to the Greater Manchester Law Centre.

“Why? Because law centres around the country, and I established one in my own constituency 30 years ago, provide essential legal advice to people but more importantly they raise awareness about peoples legal rights and campaign on issues that affect the local community. So I think this is a great initiative, it has my whole hearted support.

“In fact we need a network of these law centres right the way around the country, and central government should be playing a role to support them as well as regional and local government.

“Good luck – anything I can do to help I will.

“The role this law centre will play I think will be dynamically empowering people to recognise their legal rights, and more importantly to enforce them as well, not just as individuals but as a community overall.” – John McDonnell, Shadow Chancellor.
